Hager 5 LLC has bought more property in downtown Hagerstown as part of its plan to revitalize an area along West Washington Street. According to online land records, the group purchased a building at 81-83 W. Washington St. that houses The Columbia Bank and the Washington County Office of the Public Defender. The building is east of the Washington County Courthouse. As part of the deal, Hager 5 also acquired the parking lot behind the bank building. The lot is listed as 50-58 W. Alliance looks to aid entrepreneurs

Last year’s Hub City Business Competition sparked formation of the Entrepreneur Council of Washington County, an ongoing effort to help people launch business ventures. "Promoting entrepreneurship is part and parcel of good, solid economic development," said Kassie Lewis, director of business development for Washington County. Alabama firm buys Parkway Professional Center near Hagerstown for $21M

The Sanders Trust, an Alabama-based health care real-estate and development firm, has acquired the Parkway Professional Center near Hagerstown for $21 million, according to a company news release. The firm, based in Birmingham, Ala., announced the deal Monday. Sheetz to hire 200 workers in Maryland

ALTOONA, Pa. — Sheetz plans to hire 200 employees in Maryland and fill more than 3,400 full-time and part-time positions companywide, the company announced Monday. Open interviews will take place starting Wednesday at all 550 Sheetz locations. Middletown bank opens credit center in Hagerstown

Middletown Valley Bank has opened its new credit-servicing center at 11 Public Square in downtown Hagerstown. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand-opening celebration is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Mayor Robert E. Bruchey II and members of the Hagerstown City Council.
