FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — Certified public accountants Michael Ocker, Nina Thiessen and Sharleen Fazzolari of Ocker & Associates PC recently attended a full-day Construction Industry Conference organized by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The conference focused on accounting practices and management techniques that maximize profit and minimize financial risks in the construction industry.

Star Community

Jami Geary-Mullendore of Boonsboro has been elected to the board of directors at Star Community of Hagerstown.

She is a corporate officer for AdvantEdge Marketing Services, an affiliate of HBP in Hagerstown.

Scott D. Toms of Fairplay has been named treasurer of the board, replacing Melissa Hahn, whose board term expired in September.

He is a wealth adviser with Cornerstone Wealth Management Group in Hagerstown.

Edward Jones

Dave Holman, an Edward Jones financial adviser in Hagerstown, recently attended this year’s regional meeting in Annapolis, Md.

Holman, whose office is on Pennsylvania Avenue, was among 120 Edward Jones advisers at the meeting.

Edward Jones provides financial services for more than 7 million investors in the United States and Canada.

National Park Service

WASHINGTON — Chris Stubbs, an experienced resource manager, has been named superintendent of Monocacy National Battlefield in Frederick, Md.

Since 2009, Stubbs has served as chief of resources management at Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park, where he worked closely with the C&O Canal Trust to advance the award-winning Canal Quarters program.

Stubbs received a Bachelor of Arts in government and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in forestry from Virginia Tech.
