HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Hagerstown Kool Smiles dentist Dr. Reza Keshmiri traveled to Bolivia recently with CHOICE Humanitarian, where he spent a week providing dental care to children in the country’s rural Altiplano region.
The humanitarian trip was part of Kool Doctors Giving Back, a global outreach initiative that aims to bring quality, compassionate dental care to underserved communities at home and abroad. Keshmiri and other members of the volunteer dental team conducted dental examinations, extractions, fillings and cleanings in a rural village.
Sandra L. Sullivan
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg appointed Sandra L. Sullivan as the new associate director of patient-care services (nurse executive), effective Feb. 5.
Sullivan began her career with the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2012, as the associate chief nurse of geriatrics and long-term care at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center.
Sullivan’s career began following Sept. 11, 2001, when she assumed the role of first bioterrorism coordinator/public health emergency planner at the Washington County Health Department in Maryland.
She received a Master of Science in health services leadership and management, along with a post-master’s teaching certificate in nursing and health professions in May 2008 at University of Maryland School of Nursing, Baltimore. She completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at University of Maryland School of Nursing, Baltimore, in May 1999, and completed her Associate of Science in nursing at Hagerstown Community College in May 1991.
Beth Henson of the Henson Nationwide Insurance Agency has earned the On Your Side Basic Farm Certification designation from Nationwide, the leading farm insurer in the United States.
The designation is intended to help farmers and ranchers recognize agents who have made a commitment to understanding the complex risks faced by the agriculture industry. Agents must uphold education and service commitments to retain their certification.
