Younger Motorcars promotes Eichelberger


HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Eric Eichelberger, a native of Hagerstown, has been named assistant general manager of Younger Motorcars Inc., which includes Younger Toyota, Younger Mitsubishi and Volvo Cars Hagerstown.

His responsibilities are to assist the general manager in the oversight of daily operations and controls of the sales and service departments, setting and reaching department sales and profit objectives, and increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Eichelberger began his career with Younger in 2007 as a business manager.

WVU Medicine welcomes oncologist to cancer center


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center and University Health Associates welcome Dr. Sowmini Medavaram, hematologist/oncologist, to the medical staff of the WVU Cancer Institute in Martinsburg.

Medavaram will provide hematology/oncology care at both Berkeley Medical Center and Jefferson Medical Center. She also serves as an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine.

WVU Medicine welcomes obstetrician, gynecologist


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center and University Healthcare Physicians (UHP) announce the addition of Dr. Erin E. Miller, obstetrician/gynecologist, to WVU Medicine OB/GYN in Martinsburg.

She is a member of the medical staff at Berkeley Medical Center and serves as an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine.

Berkeley Medical Center gives quality service award for July


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Reyian Mangontong, food/nutritional services, was recently named WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center’s Quality Service Award winner for July.

Each month, the hospital’s service award committee selects a Quality Service Award recipient. Mangontong was nominated by a patient he assisted in the hospital’s cafeteria.

“I was at the hospital for extended testing and unable to eat. I visited the cafeteria with my husband so he could eat, but later returned to get something for myself. Things were closed down at that point because it was after 2:00 p.m. Rey remembered me from my first trip to the cafeteria with my husband. I wanted a hot meal, so Rey took the time to personally fix one for me. His kindness was unexpected and truly wonderful. Rey gives a positive impression for customer service,” the patient said.

Pediatrician joins WVU Medicine Spring Mills


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine University Healthcare Physicians recently announced that Dr. Rebecca Furby, a pediatrician, has joined the staff at WVU Medicine Primary Care in Spring Mills.

An Eastern Panhandle native, Furby serves as an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine and is a member of the medical staff at Berkeley Medical Center.

Quarantillos join WVU Medicine primary practice

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine East and University Healthcare Physicians recently announced that Dr. Edward Paul Quarantillo III and Dr. Pamela Quarantillo have joined WVU Medicine Primary Care — Tuscarora in Martinsburg.

Paul Quarantillo is board-certified in family medicine, is an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine.

Pamela Quarantillo is board-certified in pediatrics and serves as an assistant professor for the WVU School of Medicine.

Prior to joining WVU Medicine, both physicians practiced in Berkeley Springs.

LaPadula named mall’s marketing coordinator

FREDERICK, Md. — Angela LaPadula has been named the new Marketing Coordinator at Francis Scott Key Mall by mall owner Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT). 

In this management position, she is charged with creating and implementing strategic marketing and public relations programs that will increase the center’s visibility and help generate increased sales for its retailers. She will focus on building the social media platform for the mall and building relationships with shoppers through a broad range of customer services and special events.

PREIT announces CFO transition

PHILADELPHIA — PREIT recently announced its intention to promote Mario C. Ventresca Jr., executive vice president of operations, to executive vice president and chief financial officer.

He will replace current executive vice president and chief financial officer Bob McCadden, who will leave the company effective Dec. 31. McCadden will transition his current responsibilities to Ventresca over the balance of the year.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Central Pennsylvania has welcomed new agents.

Among them were La Shae Scalia, Bryce Barnes and Brian Gipe of the Chambersburg, Pa., office, and Kirsten Mills of the Waynesboro, Pa., office.

Local insurance professional named to state board

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Insurance Commissioner Al Redmar Jr. recently appointed Blakeley Barker of Wright-Gardner Insurance Inc. to serve on the Maryland Producer Licensing Advisory Board. 

The Board assists the Maryland Insurance Administration in reviewing continuing education courses, examinations, and other matters relating to the education and qualification of insurance producers.

The Life and Health Producer Licensing Advisory Board and the Property and Casualty Producer Licensing Advisory Board are filled by appointed members, all volunteers, who serve four-year terms.

Travel agent completes Tauck training


FREDERICK, Md. — Barb Cline, a travel agent from Barb Cline Travel dba/Cruise Planners in Frederick, recently completed an in-depth training program with Tauck, joining fewer than 1% of the company’s worldwide network of travel agents who have completed the program.

Cline was enrolled in the company’s agent training program Tauck Academy, and by successfully completing its curriculum, she becomes a Tauck certified agent who qualifies for special benefits and other exclusive opportunities provided by the company.
