Two books aim to help people cope with Alzheimer’s disease

FREDERICK, Md. — Elder-care attorney David Wingate has just released two books to help Alzheimer’s disease patients and their caregivers.

In the books, “You’re Not Alone: Living with Alzheimer’s Disease” and “You’re Not Alone: Living as an Alzheimer’s Caregiver,” Wingate taps into his years of experience to share information with those recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers to cope, prepare and protect themselves.

The guides go beyond general information that is available online and from health care organizations. The books show Maryland residents:

• Options for care providers

• How to protect themselves legally

• How to choose their decision-makers

• How to plan for their pets

• How to deal with the stresses of caregiving

Wingate is the founding member of the Elder Law Office of David Wingate, an estate and elder law firm. The two latest books are available at no cost from Wingate’s office, which can be reached at
