FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — Penn National Golf Course Community in Fayetteville was named a Top 50 Best Master-Planned Community by Where to Retire Magazine.
The award, given in June, marks the 11th consecutive time that the Penn National community has been selected for this honor and is the only community in Pennsylvania to be awarded this distinction.
Since 1999, Where to Retire Magazine has published its biannual ranking of master-planned communities — starting with the top 100 list, then making the list more elite in 2011 with the 50 best in the country. Since the inception of the award, Penn National has made both lists.
The editors of Where to Retire Magazine began their search over a year ago and only include master-planned communities that offer a high quality of life in exceptional locations with 300 or more planned homes and a package of amenities.
Penn National is an age-targeted, but not age-restricted, community with a diverse group of residents and neighborhoods beside the 85,000-acre Michaux State Forest, and 90 miles from the Baltimore and Washington beltways.
