Despite rain, golf outing raises early $35,000

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — Golfers and volunteers endured cold and wet conditions at the 25th annual Fulton County Medical Center Foundation Golf Tournament to help raise $34,973.

The proceeds will be used to purchase an MRI knee coil for radiology and a portable ventilator for respiratory therapy.

The tournament was shortened to nine holes because of the heavy rain affecting course conditions at Great Cove Golf Course. It was the third time in the last five years rain has hit the tournament, but the weather did not dampen spirits.

The overall winning team was Fred Peck, Denny Ritchey, Bill Yocum and Russell Harmon. The $1,000 ball drop winner was Pam Benton.

JPT Healthcare Architects, Keller Engineers and Palmer Construction were the lead sponsors.
