FREDERICK, Md. — Octavo Designs received a Regional Gold ADDY Award at the 2018 District 2 American Advertising Awards Show recently in Pittsburgh.

“We are thrilled to receive this ADDY award,” Sue Hough, founder and creative director of Octavo Designs, said in a news release. “The opportunity to move on to the national competition is truly humbling and exciting. I know our team does great work, and it’s fantastic to see that recognized by others.”

A Gold ADDY Award winner is judged to be superior to the other entries in the competition. Entries competed from agencies and firms from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Delaware.

Octavo Designs received the award for its work on a cross-platform brand identity campaign for Manhattan: Men’s Grooming Lounge in Frederick, Md. The campaign focused upon identity development, branding strategy and website design.

“The Octavo team thoroughly understood our needs and image we wanted to project,” Mary Louise Riser, owner of Manhattan, said in the news release. “Every step of the process was collaborative and the final product speaks for itself — a stunning visual that communicates our product to the community, before the guest ever walks through the door.”

Octavo Designs, based in Frederick, is a member of the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation, a regional chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

Octavo Designs will move on to compete in the 2018 National American Advertising Awards on June 8 in Chicago.
