ExportMD grant

BioStat Solutions Inc. of Frederick, Md., was among 11 small- and mid-sized Maryland companies that recently received received ExportMD grants to help promote their products and services in the global marketplace.

The Maryland Department of Commerce reports that the program helps businesses finance the costs of marketing internationally, including trade show fees, brochures and travel expenses

BioStat Solutions provides statistical and bioinformatics expertise to pharmaceutical and biotech companies as well as to the government and its contractors.

Tourism numbers

Washington County, Md., lodging establishments paid $191,972 in hotel/motel taxes in August, according to the most recent figures released by the county. That’s down from $211,734 in July and $192,640 in August 2016.
