OAKLAND, Md. — Laura C. Lowry was recently promoted to vice president and community relationship manager at First United Bank & Trust.
Lowry has more than 36 years of business experience and joined First United in 2005. She began as a staff accountant and investment assistant. She also held positions ranging from marketing coordinator, retail banking manager and assistant to the director of finance for the City of Hagerstown. She is a graduate of Hagerstown Community College with a degree in applied science, majoring in accounting and business management. She also maintains a state of Maryland Producer Insurance license.
Lowry also serves on the Horizon Goodwill Industries Board of Directors and is the Finance Committee chairwoman. She also serves on the Operations Committee for Goodwill. Lowry is also a member of the Ambassador Committee with the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
R. Troy Linton was recently hired as wealth adviser serving the Frederick County for First United Bank & Trust.
Linton will counsel his clients through investment management, retirement concerns and financial planning. He more than 20 years of local trust and investment experience. He began his financial services career as a wealth investment adviser after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a master’s degree in business management from Mount St. Mary’s University. From there, he progressed through various trust and investment roles.
Linton, who lives in Woodsboro with his wife Cathy and their son Connor, is a board member for the Woodsboro Medical Center as well as a good Samaritan for the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He also serves as treasurer for the Church of the Brethren. In addition, Linton received a certificate of recognition from the Frederick Affordable Housing Council for his work bringing corporate attention to diverse, not-for-profit organizations.
