SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Allen Dieterich-Ward, associate professor of history at Shippensburg University, has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Humanities Council Board of Directors by Gov. Tom Wolf.
The PHC is an independent partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities and part of a network of 56 state humanities councils that spans the nation and U.S. jurisdictions.
The PHC is governed by a 24-seat board of directors, which is made up of both elected individuals and governor appointees. Dieterich-Ward, an environmental and urban historian with a focus on political ecology and community development, will serve a three-year term.
