CNB Financial Services Inc.

CNB Financial Services Inc., the parent company of CNB Bank Inc., announced recently that the company had consolidated net income of $2.2 million, or $5.26 per common share and $5.79 per Class A common share for the year ended Dec. 31. That’s compared with consolidated net income for the same period in 2015 of $2 million, or $4.75 per common share and $5.20 per Class A common share.

CNB continues to be rated a well-capitalized financial institution by regulatory authorities. CNB’s capital totaled $30.3 million or 8.9 percent of total assets as of the end of 2016.

CNB, with total assets of $340.4 million at the end of 2016, has offices and ATMs in Washington County and Berkeley and Morgan counties in West Virginia.

Southern States Cooperative

Farm supply retailer Southern States Cooperative kicked off its annual FFA fundraiser on March 1 in an effort to support agricultural education.

The annual “FFA Paper Emblem” campaign benefits the National FFA Organization’s local, state, and national levels to provide funding to the youth organization that prepares students for leadership roles, personal growth and career success in agriculture.

The community is encouraged to purchase a $1 “I’m Supporting FFA” paper emblem at their local Southern States to support the cause.

Maryland Department of Transportation

HANOVER, Md. — State Transportation Secretary Pete K. Rahn has announced the first Small Business Enterprise contracts to be issued by the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration. The SBE contracts are for construction projects and will range from $1 million to $3.5 million.

The projects are:

• CL3045130 — Md. 26 at Oakland Mills Road, projected advertisement date Feb. 28

• HO4615176 — U.S. 29 northbound at Md. 175, projected advertisement date March 7

• MO1685187 — Md. 97 at Md. 28, projected advertisement date March 14

• MO5365187 — Md. 355 at West Old Baltimore Road, projected advertisement date March 28

• SO1925130 — Md. 413 at Tulls Corner Road, projected advertisement date March 28

United Way of Washington County

United Way of Washington County announced enhanced security features to MyFreeTaxes designed to further safeguard taxpayer information.

MyFreeTaxes is a free, safe and easy way for anyone earning $64,000 or less to file state and federal taxes.

Those taxpayers can enter their data through MyFreeTaxes.com, which links to a secure H&R Block website, making it easy to complete their taxes from home, at work or on mobile devices.

TransIT Services of Frederick County

FREDERICK, Md. — Every three years, TransIT Services of Frederick County conducts a customer-satisfaction survey for current riders.

Overall results from the 2016 survey show TransIT has maintained at least a 94 percent overall satisfaction rate for the last 10 years.

Among the highest-rated levels of customer satisfaction were safety, on-time performance, cleanliness and courteous drivers. Suggested changes from riders included the addition of Sunday service, extended service hours and more frequent buses.
