LINTHICUM, Md. — SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union, is wrapped up its annual food drive and planned to deliver all of the food items collected at its branches and headquarters to the Maryland Food Bank on Jan. 31.
SECU staff also volunteered that day at the Maryland Food Bank Distribution Center, sorting and packaging goods for delivery to those Marylanders in need.
In addition to food donations, SECU donated $5 to the Maryland Food Bank for every new “Like” it received for its Facebook page until the end of January.
“With the Food Drive, Facebook contest, and volunteer day, we are so happy to be able to do our small part to contribute to all of the great work that the Maryland Food Bank does on a daily basis,” said Carmen David Mirabile, assistant vice president of marketing at SECU.
Last year, the Maryland Food Bank distributed more than 26.5 million pounds of food through a network of 600 soup kitchens, pantries and shelters across the state.
